Medi-Cal transformation is driven by far-reaching initiatives, including those that are part of the CalAIM waiver, to broadly reform Medi-Cal’s programs and systems. These changes will span a multi-year period, with the first reforms implemented in January 2022 and additional reforms phased in through 2027. Together, they will create a more coordinated, person-centered, and equitable health system.
To assist stakeholders in planning, DHCS developed two schedules detailing key milestones and go-live dates for these initiatives.
