CCS SAR Updates

Integrated Systems of Care Division (ISCD) has developed a new process for improving the Service Authorization Requests (SARs) adjudication process. The new process include, but not be limited to, streamlining communications with counties. To support improved communications, ISCD has:

  • Developed a SAR Fax Cover Sheet to improve internal routing of SARs
  • Consolidated email boxes to reduce confusion related to submission of inquiries

Email inboxes and the SAR Fax Sheet are as follows:

SAR Fax Cover Sheet

New Email Inboxes and Right Faxes

CCSCriticalReview@dhcs.ca.gov ; RightFax (916) 440-5306

This email box will process all urgent and specialized SAR requests including:

  • Transplants
  • Cochlear Implants
  • Audiology Consults
  • Out of State Requests

CCSGeneralProcessing@dhcs.ca.gov ; RightFax (916) 440-5768

This email box will process all other requests that may include, but are not limited to:

  • Durable Medical Equipment
  • Genetic Testing
  • Blood Factors
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • Specialty Drugs

The new communication process will be implemented effective June 30, 2020. Following that date, any requests that are not routed as outlined above, or are not submitted without the Fax Cover sheet, will be returned to the requesting county for correction.

Web Page Updates

There are new requirements for posting documents on a state government website. The Department of Health Care Services is reviewing all webpages and documents. As a result, some of the links or webpages are removed or temporarily unavailable. Please bear with us during this process.

When making a request for an ISCD document or webpage, please email ISCDWebpageInquiries@dhcs.ca.gov and include the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the requested document or webpage.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

California Children's Services (CCS) is a state program for children with certain diseases or health problems.
